Words

This week we were learning about the 'final e'.
When an 'e' is added to the end of some words it changes the vowel sound from short to long. We discovered some words and wrote them down.

Tinker Time

We have started using some equipment to help us learn in different and fun ways.
This week we had the Osmo kits in class. Using an iPad, we can do some learning about words, numbers, shapes, drawing and more.

Teach The Teacher

Today in 'Teach The Teacher' Reuben told us all about the game of tennis. He explained some of the equipment and racket grips. He showed us a presentation on the screen and this is shown below.

Teach The Teacher

Today for Teach The Teacher Professor Shavaun dazzled us with science. She was assisted by Kiralee and Rebekah.

Nutrition

Today Jenny Robb, a dietician talked to some Middle School classes about nutrition and food labels on a range of breakfast cereals.
The students read the nutrition labels and looked at how much sugar is in each type of cereal. They then grouped the cereals by how much sugar was in each.  We learned that rolled oats and Weet-bix are the recommended cereals because they have very little sugar.

Millennium Trip

On Wednesday, we went on a Trip to the AUT Millennium Center. We went on a bus. When we got there we had to go in our groups. I was in group 3. We did Snorkeling, Team building, Water safety and Kayaking.

My favourite was Kayaking. When it was group 3s turn we had to put on a life jacket and sit in a boat. We had to rock the kayak and try to fall out. Next, we started to kayak. Then I got good at it.

When it  was time to go we went on the bus back to school. When we got off the bus I got my bag and then the bell went and I went home.
